Lead On: A Blog for Leaders & Those Who Inspire Them

Jan 26, 2020

Welcome to Lead On, the new blog from The Leadership Challenge®. We offer our readers insights that enable them to inspire and instill confident, compassionate, and more effective leadership in everyone.

To us, leadership is something you can teach and learn—like playing the violin, speaking another language, or baking the perfect loaf of sourdough bread. It’s an acquired set of skills and behaviors that everyone can practice and improve on. Learning to lead simply means adopting the practices of a successful leader. It means behavioral change, and that begins with informed coaching, self-awareness, and a commitment to reshaping habits.

We’re here to share thoughtful, human, and fresh perspectives on leadership to support leadership coaches, facilitators, and experts as they shape the leaders of today and tomorrow. Yes, leadership—whether you’re coaching it or learning it—is a challenge. But it’s a challenge worth accepting.

Here’s What You Can Expect From Lead On:

  • A quick read. We respect your time. These blog posts will be short, concise, and action-oriented so you can get back to business. You won’t find any 80-page research studies here. But you might find a post that introduces a new study and distills its content into practical advice.
  • Appreciation for everyone. This platform celebrates the perspectives, flavors, and differences that make leaders successful. We’ll use real-world experiences and examples to help our readers understand the ins and outs of modern leadership from leader to leader.
  • Variety. We need capable and confident leaders everywhere. So, we offer leadership advice and insight for leaders and leadership coaches in a variety of settings and circumstances.
  • Passion for people. In today’s world, we’re champions of people. We believe in human potential and the possibility to drive cultural improvement through widespread and informed leadership.

Through this blog, we aim to inspire and expand your view of how The Leadership Challenge relates to work and life beyond that. We want you to see how leaders are crafting a better future, and we want you to understand how you’re one of them. Stay tuned for upcoming posts.

Thanks for reading and lead on.

“Change is the province of leaders. It is the work of leaders to inspire people to do things differently, to struggle against uncertain odds, and to persevere toward a misty image of a better future."

- Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner
