OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this study was to understand how students of the 11th and 12th grade of Laranjeiras Secondary School perceive the leadership practices of their teachers.

METHODOLOGY
The sample involved 115 students, with 55 percent in 11th grade and 45 percent in 12th grade. Sixty-three percent of the students were female. All the respondents completed a Portuguese version of the Leadership Practices Inventory-Observer about their teachers.

KEY FINDINGS
The author concludes:

“To sum up, after analyzing the results of the inquiry one can say that teachers of Laranjeiras High School show some exemplary leadership behaviours of the dimensions: “Modelling the Way”, “Challenging the Process”, “Enabling Others to Act” and “Encouraging the Heart”. Behaviours related to the dimension “Inspiring a Shared Vision” were not recognized by the students.”
