What We're Reading

In a wide-ranging and deeply insightful letter to the Facebook Community, CEO Mark Zuckerberg tackles the very tough question of whether we are truly building the world we all want. Are we building communities that are safe and supportive, informed and civically-engaged? Are we building an inclusive community that reflects our collective values? Are we—as individuals and organizations, like Facebook—doing all we can to build the long-term social infrastructure to bring humanity together? In what Jim Kouzes calls, “a declaration of community…a model of shared values and shared purpose which all leaders should study,” Zuckerberg answers these questions by laying out, in great detail, Facebook’s commitment to taking an active role in bringing people together in meaningful ways that provide opportunities to help them make the greatest positive impact and build a global community that works for everyone.
